81 Bipartisan House Members Tell HHS They Support Liver Equity
In a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday, March 6, 81 members of the House of Representatives, led by Congressmen Engel (D-NY) and LaMalfa (R-CA), expressed strong support for the liver allocation policy recently adopted by the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network. As these Members of Congress state, these reforms will at long last bring fairness to how livers are shared for transplant, bring the system into compliance with the law, and save lives.
The National Coalition for Transplant Equity applauds these members for their attention to this crucial issue, which impacts many thousands of patients across the country. Please join us in thanking them for their leadership!
